SPIRIT ACCOUNTS

Students Preparing & Investing Resources In Tomorrow

The youth program SPIRIT at NAFT Federal Credit Union is designed to assist members in the area of financial knowledge and money management.

Specific services for these members are as follows:

  • SPIRIT Member with Savings - to become a member of NAFT Federal Credit Union's SPIRIT Program, the individual must deposit $5.00 to a share account and pay a one-time fee of $5.00. Within 2 months of the opening date of the account, the member must bring their account balance up to $50.00 or their membership will be closed.

Must present a social security number, and a valid driver's license or identification card if available.

The member must be between the ages of 13 and 20.

The credit union will require proof of student status.

  • SPIRIT Member with Checking - Age 17 (must have qualified co-signer) someone who is over the age of 18.  Age 18 to 20: no co-signer required.

$25.00 is required to open the account, thereafter no minimum balance is required. Interest will be earned the same as our regular checking.

First box of 50 checks is free.

No service charge with recurring direct deposit or $.10 per withdrawal or transfer in excess of nine (9) withdrawals or transfers per month with a maximum of $3.00 if balance falls below $800.00 anytime during the dividend period.

  • SPIRIT MEMBER WITH MASTERCARD - Age 16 to 17 with qualified co-signer. Age 18 to 20 current policies apply. With exception: SPIRIT member length of employment must be 3 months or more. Credit Limits up to $300.


  • SPIRIT MEMBER WITH LOAN - Age 13 to 17 - with qualified co-signer and the qualifying person does not have to be employed. Age 18 to 20 - current loan policies and guidelines apply.
